Weinkoenig Organic Cabernet Sauvignon
(Less than 0.5% alcohol)
This is a full-bodied red with a nice rounded grape flavor. It comes from Koblenz, one of the prettiest spots along Germany’s Rhine river, right where it meets with the Moselle river. The Alcohol Free Shop where I ordered it notes the wine is dealcoholised using a special vacuum process which preserves the full flavor of the wine (including a pleasant blackcurrant aroma) which I think sets it apart from other low-alcohol reds. I enjoyed this with a pizza (and dark chocolate for dessert!) but I could see it paired with a variety of dishes. It’s bold enough to enjoy on its own, too.
